UMODZI Consulting was engaged by the Integrating Nutrition in Value Chains project funded by USAID to facilitate the development of business plan for 10 farmer cooperatives in Mchinji and Lilongwe.

UMODZI Consulting consultants facilitated Business plan development workshops, capacity building training workshops in financial management, marketing, negotiations, leadership, conflict resolution

UMODZI also facilitated the registration of Milk Bulking Groups, Farmers Associations to cooperatives through providing expertise, linking the milk bulking groups to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

We also assisted in mentorship and coaching in the areas of financial management, farmer group registration, leadership and management. This aspect helped the cooperative and farmer organisations to be sustainable in their business activities.

UMODZI Consulting was engaged to train and profile farmers on Esoko platform, a Market Information Systems that helps to improve the agricultural value chain through dissemination of market information using mobile phones and also build Fair trade of farmers. UMODZI Consulting trained 27 rice farmer groups on Esoko in Salima and Nkhotakota.

UMODZI Consulting further assisted the farmers-based organisations along the value chains of Rice and Cassava on how they can work with the private business to enhance the supply chain. UMODZI Consulting developed business plan in production of HQCF and did feasibility studies for rice puffs and animal feeds from rice husks.
